The Future of Air Mobility accelerator (FoAM) is a challenge-led, 6-month accelerator programme powered by Connected Places Catapult and in partnership with the Future Flight Challenge from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). The Catapult will select up to 12 SMEs to join the programme where they will receive support from a consortium of industry, government, academic and regulatory partners on the trial and testing of disruptive innovations. Through a focus on new and emerging challenges within the aviation ecosystem, FoAM will work alongside a consortium of partners to ensure that the programme tackles significant sector challenges and de-risks innovation in the marketplace.
If you’re an energy innovator you know how hard it is to bring your innovation to market. The Whole Energy Systems Accelerator (WESA) is a world-first energy innovation test and evaluation facility where you can learn about how your innovation interacts between homes, energy networks, and market & policy frameworks in real-time and across a range of potential future energy system and market scenarios. WESA can provide vital information about the behaviour of consumers in their homes and the way this behaviour interacts with technology, networks, policy, regulation, and commercial models – giving insight into the real-world benefits for consumers and ways to avoid creating new types of vulnerability.
We are pleased to invite you to attend the exclusive Intelligent Mobility Accelerator Investor Day on Thursday 1st September in London Farringdon where we will be connecting investors with disruptive SMEs that have been selected for our six-month accelerator programme. Alongside exploring investment opportunities, you can support SMEs in gaining a better understanding of investors’ expectations by offering insights and feedback on their investment proposal.
Earlier in the year, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) invited applicants to compete for a share of £1.2million funding as part of Prospering from the Energy Revolution Programme. Winners could receive up to £300,000 to develop open solutions to accelerate decarbonisation of energy in the UK. The aim of the projects is to create collaborative open technology resources that will accelerate other net zero projects across the UK and internationally. The winners were announced in May, and we would now like to invite you to join us for our webinar to meet them and see how they will be supported during this project.
Join us on Wednesday 7 September for our industry-leading Satuccino networking event! Hosted by the Satellite Applications Catapult in Harwell and dedicated to the space sector, the event will be an opportunity to find out the latest industry news, funding opportunities and business pitches from across the industry. As usual, there will also be the chance to spend some time after the event networking or simply catching up with friends and colleagues.
This community-building event will convene members of the advanced packaging industry to showcase projects and highlight technical advancements and learnings that will enable progress in defence and security applications supply chains. At this event, attendees will hear about the latest funding, varied capabilities from speakers across the supply chain, as well as opportunities and challenges that future projects could address. Hosted at CSA Catapult’s Innovation Centre, this in person event will provide the opportunity to tour CSA Catapult’s state-of-the-art labs and discuss potential projects with fellow attendees.
Join our live Q&A webinar for the opportunity to find out how your organisation could receive £15,000 in funding from the Innovate UK Digital Security by Design programme and gain access to the cutting-edge Arm Morello board incorporating CHERI architecture. Through the Digital Security by Design Technology Access Programme, UK-based companies can use these technologies to uncover security vulnerabilities in their own systems before they become a problem, and provide findings that could influence the design of future computer systems. During the webinar you’ll be able to ask questions about the technologies, find out what benefits you might expect to experience in your own systems and what your organisation would need to do as part of the experimentation programme.
The World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics (WCPG) is the premier international scientific meeting for research in psychiatric genetics and related areas. Leading experts of genetics, neuroscience, and psychiatry from all over the world will be participating. The motto of this year’s WCPG is “Vanishing Boundaries in Psychiatry”.
The Energy Innovation Summit (The Summit) will take place 28-29 September 2022 and build on last year’s new opportunities for all our participants. The Summit is a must attend for anyone involved in managing, developing or implementing innovations and will pave the way for our future net zero emissions.
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is an active imaging process with applications to environment, civil and defence sectors. SAR sensors can be hosted on satellites, drones or in-situ and can ‘see through clouds’, meaning that SAR imagery of the Earth can be constructed when optical imagery cannot, e.g. When it’s cloudy or at night. Satellite Applications Catapult seeks to raise awareness of the NovaSAR-1 capabilities by increasing the number of educated users within the UK science, Government, and business communities. To achieve this Satellite Applications Catapult will be hosting a NovaSAR Workshop on Wednesday 12 October to stimulate discussions across the academic, commercial, civil, and defence communities. This will be held at Harwell Space Campus, Oxfordshire, with the option to join virtually.
The industry knows the scale of the opportunity floating offshore wind presents – now it’s time to deliver it. With AR4, Scotwind and major announcements of investment into supply chain and infrastructure, 2022 is set to be a turning point for floating wind. But to deliver on these commitments and targets, industry must solve the remaining challenges and learn quickly from the pilot projects in the water. Organised by RenewableUK and Scottish Renewables, Floating Offshore Wind 2022 will be the meeting place for the entire industry, to come together and share best practise, discuss operational efficiencies, lessons learned, workshop technical challenges and showcase the best innovations which will drive FOW down the cost curve. Make sure you are part of the conversation.
UK material manufacturers have the opportunity to exceed expectations on improving the environmental and social impact of their products and services. Ultimately, there is the possibility to create real value and a distinct competitive advantage by putting sustainability in the heart of their business strategy, pursue meaningful decarbonisation objectives and find the right tools to succeed.
